Mark 6 The Healer

Read Mark 6:53-56

Jesus and the disciples land at Gennesaret on the north west end of the sea of Galilee, far from Bethsaida where they were originally headed (6:45). The storm sent their trip on a new track. Thinking back to the storm why did the disciples at first fear this man on the water?

In contrast after Jesus lands on shore what was the reaction of the people? Which of these sets of individuals will in the end have greater, as well as more informed faith? Jesus again demonstrates his greatness healing and allowing many to be healed by simply deliberately touching his garments. Over time what do these incidents tell the disciples about Jesus? In contrast what does the general public see in Jesus through these incidents?

On an aside note: Jesus garments were not magical and had no special power even in physical contact with Jesus. Why then could someone be healed by touching Jesus garments?
